“One hopes that Juritz’s “curating” of a great classic will appear on CD.“
The Quarterly Review
I made this arrangement of Bach’s iconic Goldberg Variations for my friend and colleague, the guitarist Craig Ogden.
In this transcription I’ve tried to remain true, not only to Bach’s sound-world, but also to reflect the interplay between the two manuals on the harpsichord for which he was writing. We’ve found that the different timbre and attack of the three instruments really illuminates Bach’s counterpoint, especially his wonderful canons that are such an important part of this unsurpassable set of variations.
Since the first performance at Studio Music in Brightlingsea in 2017 it’s been warmly received by audiences at many festivals in the UK.
